‘At Hand’ with Five Good Friends

With older Australians especially vulnerable during the COVID-19 situation, we’re pleased to announce that in conjunction with our partners Five Good Friends (FGF), we are offering free welfare check-ins and remote monitoring services to eligible customers^ as part of our commitment to supporting our customers during COVID-19.

FGF – an innovative in-home care provider – recently launched its At Hand service, providing support for older Australians. As a trusted partner of FGF, Apia is extending this service to eligible customers for an eight-week period, free of charge.

Geoff Keogh, Head of Niche Distribution, is incredibly excited to be able to offer this additional support to our Apia customers.

“In these times it is great to have strong partnerships like the one we have between Apia and FGF, who can come together in the best way possible to provide a service that is really adding value and providing reassurance,” he said.

“Social distancing and travel restrictions are forcing many families to change how they keep in touch with and look after their elderly loved ones who live independently, and At Hand gives everyone peace of mind that they are doing ok.”

“This is a true demonstration of Apia’s commitment to supporting our most vulnerable customers through those moments that matter.”

What services will At Hand offer Apia customers?

The At Hand service will provide the following support services:

  • Remote check ins

  • Monitoring state of mind/wellbeing

  • Keeping family informed should any red flags arise, or additional support be required.

How can customers benefit from At Hand?

If you are a customer who could benefit from extra help and support during this time, please call the Apia Care Advice Hotline (1300 50 27 42), or complete an online referral from Five Good Friends to receive a call back from a FGF Care Advisor.
