Leisa
Still working full-time and enjoying life on her new motorbike, Leisa values genuine support. With her background in customer service, she’s had a great experience with Apia and felt truly looked after. Hear why she trusts Apia’s team to deliver real care and expert support.
Leisa VO: I love to ride motorcycles, that's my passion.
I've always liked a bit of adrenaline.
I've jumped out of an aeroplane, so I've been on the fastest roller coaster in the world.
Anything that's new experiences. It’s nice to be that cool Nana.
So my Dad and I are very close, he is 90 years of age.
It was because of him that I actually came to Apia looking for insurance.
It is a different experience depending on who you talk to, but with Apia, just felt every time it was just comfortable.
So it was nice to talk to somebody that I never felt rushed about, they asked questions, they looked at what my needs were.
They're not just reciting something, they actually know the product.
It makes me feel confident, confident that I've got the right person talking to me, that I know that person is well experienced and can give me the right answers that I'm looking for.
It was just easy and everyone wants easy when it comes to insurance because it was a no brainer to go to Apia as well.

Darren
Darren, a recent retiree from the health food world, is easing into farm life with his wife on their 20-acre property. He’s passionate about growing his own food and cooking from the heart. What he values most about Apia? Genuine conversations, helpful support, and proactivity. Watch his story to see why making the switch felt just right.
Darren VO:
The first time we saw this place, we fell in love.
We've got 20 acres.
I love being out in the outdoors, in the open space.
Country life has more of a relaxed feel, there's just so much freedom, fresh air.
There's also more of a community attachment and I guess as we're getting to that retirement stage, that's really important to us.
Moving from the city to the country, there's obviously a lot of important factors that we have to deal with and consider and insurance is right at the top of that list.
My perception of Apia previously was that it was for pensioners only.
One day my wife came home and said we can have a look at Apia because we qualify and I didn't know.
We've been with Apia for four years in Brisbane.
We did have a claim, it was a bad storm back in 2022.
We had our, our roof caved in in our garage.
That whole communication process was absolutely perfect.
That good experience that we had with Apia, we wanted to continue that in our new property up here in the country.
They satisfied all of our criteria.
The ease of navigation on the website, from ringing up the call centre.
They're very caring on the phone.
They explain things really, really well.
I've told my friends that they need to look at Apia.
They really care about doing the right thing by you.

Julie
Meet Julie—former journo and the head of the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre. When a flood wrecked her car, the care and attention she received during the claims process made all the difference. Hear how Apia truly supported her when she needed it most.
Julie VO: I'm an ex-city journalist, I worked in metropolitan print media for years and in broadcast media but now I'm managing the Bribie Island Committee Arts Centre.
The creativity that's here, the sense of friendliness, the sense of sharing and fraternity and inclusivity is just wonderful and it's very different to a newsroom.
But I do pinch myself that I'm here and I'm doing it.
I'm pretty savvy with money because I know it's hard to come by and it can go through your fingers very quickly, I watch the pennies, so to speak.
I first came across Apia through word of mouth.
I made the enquiries and the answers satisfied me, so I went with them.
We filed a claim with Apia when we lost our car in a flood.
It's a bit shocking because there was always the feeling when you lose something big, you think, oh how bad will this be?
But I gotta say Apia were fantastic.
I find these days you do so much online and you get danced around a lot.
I found Apia very accessible, calm, very helpful.
Every question I asked was answered without any, you know, hesitation.
I found them very empathetic, they obviously get that you know, what you've lost is and the whole scale of things may not be huge to them, but certainly to an individual.
They had a very sensitive and caring kind of role.
It's just amazing.
