Multi-policy discount terms and conditions

Our multi-policy discount (MPD) is being discontinued and will not be offered for new or renewing policies from 19 January 2026. There are some exceptions where the MPD will apply to existing policies for one renewal. If the MPD is applied, it’ll be shown on your certificate. To find out more, visit www.apia.com.au/whats-changing. This discount doesn’t apply to the Apia Roadside Assist optional cover.

1. To qualify for the 10% Multi-policy discount (the MPD) you must have two or more eligible paid Apia general insurance policies. There must be a common mailing address and the person(s) seeking the discount must be nominated as an insured with the exact same name on each eligible policy.

2. The eligible policies to qualify for the MPD are Apia home, contents, landlord, car, motorcycle, boat, caravan and motorhome insurance.

2.1. Comprehensive Car Insurance counts as an eligible policy, but the MPD does not apply to the Apia Roadside Assist portion of your premium, if you have selected this optional cover.

2.2. The MPD does not apply to the Personal valuables – unspecified items, Personal valuables – specified items, Apia Home Assist or Excess-free glass portions of your premium, if you have selected these optional covers with one of our Apia Home and/or Contents Insurance policies (where available).

3. If you take out a new policy and qualify for the MPD, you are eligible for the MPD on that new policy from its start date (if the discount is no applied at purchase, we endeavour to process the discount withing 90 days from policy start date). You are eligible to receive the MPD on your other existing eligible policy from its next renewal date, provided you are eligible for the MPD and we still offer the MPD when we calculate your renewal offer.

4. If you quote for a new policy via our website, we rely on your answers to our questions to establish eligibility for the MPD.

5. Taxes and charges (e.g. GST and stamp duty) are no discounted. If you receive more than one discount, we will apply each further discount to the already discounted premium.

6. We reservice the right to vary or discontinue our MPD offer at any time and without notice.
