Apia Retention Competition FY26 CONDITIONS

PARTICIPATION

1. This competition ("Competition") is conducted by Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency Pty Limited (“Apia”) ABN 14 099 650 996 of Level 23, 80 Ann Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000, ph 13 50 50 (“Promoter”). Please direct any postal correspondence to Level 23, 80 Ann Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000.

2. All entry instructions and prize information provided by the Promoter at the point of entry form part of these conditions. By entering, entrants accept these conditions.

3. The Competition is only open to individuals who: (i) are Australian residents aged 18 years or older at time of entry; and (ii) are not directors, management or employees, or their immediate family members, of the Promoter, or its related companies, its agencies, or other companies associated with, or benefiting from, the Competition  ("Eligible Entrant"). ‘Immediate family member’ means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.  

4. Competition entry commences at 12:00am AEST on 1 February 2026 and closes at 11.59pm AEDT on 31 January 2027 ("Entry Period").

ENTRY

5. To be eligible for entry into the draw, customers must hold a current and fully paid Apia Home and/or Contents Insurance; Apia Home and/or Contents Extra Insurance; Apia Landlord Insurance; Apia Apartment Style Residence Insurance; Apia Assisted Living Residence Insurance, Apia Village Style Residence Insurance, Apia Caravan Insurance, Apia Motorcycle Insurance, Apia Motorhome Insurance, Apia Boat Insurance, Apia Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy (each an “Eligible Insurance Policy”)  [throughout the entire duration of the Entry Period]. Policies that are lapsed, cancelled, or otherwise not in force at the time of the draw will be deemed ineligible and any associated entries will be invalid.

For the avoidance of doubt, new policies (not in renewal), policies that are overdue, policies that are not current, expired or lapsed are not Eligible Insurance Policies for this Competition.

6. An Eligible Entrant will automatically receive 1 (one) entry for each risk insured (i.e. each insured address or vehicle insured) under an Eligible Insurance Policy. For the avoidance of doubt, an address insured under a combined Apia Home and Contents Insurance Policy constitutes 1 entry for the purposes of this Competition. Underwriting criteria apply. An Eligible Entrant for the purposes of this competition, may be a joint policyholder, for example where an Eligible Insurance Policy is held in more than one name.

7. Multiple entries are permitted, but each entry must comply with these conditions.

8. Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Entry Period. Entries will be deemed received at the time that all necessary requirements under condition 5 have been met.

9. The Promoter is not responsible if an entrant’s mobile device, desktop computer or similar electronic device is not sufficiently capable for the purpose of submitting an entry.

10. The Promoter may with reasonable grounds declare an entry invalid or disqualify any entrant that tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering, submits an entry that is incomplete or not in accordance with these conditions, or otherwise acts in a manner that is disruptive, dishonest or calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this Competition.

11. The Promoter reserves the right to require each winner to verify the validity of their entry within a reasonable requested time, including but not limited to their identity and eligibility and to disqualify any entrant who does not satisfy any entry criteria in these conditions.

DRAWS AND PRIZES

12. There will be one (1) draw conducted each month of the Entry Period for a total of twelve (12) monthly draws (each a “Monthly Draw”). Entries into each Monthly Draw open and close on the dates and times indicated in the table below. Non-winning entries in each Monthly Draw will NOT be entered into any subsequent Monthly Draws.

13. All Monthly Draws will take place at Anisimoff Legal, Level 3, 162 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 at 11:00AM AEST/AEDT (as applicable), as follows, in the presence of an independent scrutineer:

14. The first valid entry drawn in each Monthly Draw will win $50,000 in the form of a deposit via electronic funds transfer (“EFT”) to the winner’s nominated Australian authorised deposit account in their name.

15. Winners are solely responsible for providing full, current and accurate account details. The Promoter will not be responsible for incorrect, incomplete, or out of date account details being provided, a banking institution rejecting an EFT payment, or any costs associated with locating any lost monies, or monies paid into an incorrect bank account.

16. The Promoter may draw reserve entries in a prize draw and record them in order to use in the instance an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn, or a prize is forfeited.

PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO PRIZES GENERALLY

17. The total prize pool is valued at AUD $600,000.

18. Where a policy is held in joint names, the prize will be awarded jointly to the named insureds. Authorised contacts or representatives who are not named insureds are not eligible to be awarded a prize in their own right, but may liaise with the Promoter for administrative purposes (including notification of a win) where they hold appropriate authority. In the event of any inconsistency or dispute regarding prize entitlement, the rights of the named insured(s) will take precedence.

19. No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to take any element of a prize as stated, or does not satisfy any conditions of use for any element of the prize for whatever reason. Any part of a prize that is not taken for any reason is forfeited and no compensation will be provided.

20. If a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason outside the Promoter’s control, the Promoter will substitute alternative goods or services of equal or higher value, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. Subject to any applicable law which cannot be excluded, the Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by a winner or any other party if a prize (or part of prize) is unavailable for any reason.

21. Other than as expressly stated in these conditions, a prize is non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-replaceable, and non-redeemable for another prize including cash, except at the Promoter’s reasonable discretion and subject to relevant State and Territory legislation.

PRIZE WINNERS

22. The winners will be notified within 7 days of each Monthly Draw by phone call and email, using the details provided in their entry.

23. The prize notification will include instructions as to how the winner is to claim their prize.

24. The prizes will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter reasonably requires.

25.    Winners (first initial, last name and postcode) will be published at https://www.apia.com.au/competition on the dates set out in condition 14 above.

26. Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason a winner does not take a prize (or an element of a prize) by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited.

27. Subject, where relevant, to any directions given by a relevant regulatory authority, if a winner is determined by the Promoter to be ineligible to win a prize in accordance with these conditions, the relevant prize will be forfeited and instead awarded to another Eligible Entrant from the list of reserve entries.

28. If a prize is not claimed by a winner or the Promoter has been unable (despite reasonable efforts) to successfully contact the winner on or before 8 March 2027 an unclaimed prize draw may take place. Any such unclaimed prize draw will be made from a pool of the remaining Eligible Entrants and will take place on 9 March 2027 at the same time and location as the original Monthly Draws.

29. Any redraw prize winner(s) will be notified within 7 days of the redraw by phone call and email using the details provided in their entry and their first initial, last name and postcode will be published at https://www.apia.com.au/competition on 16 March 2027.

30. As a condition of accepting a prize, the Promoter may at its discretion require that prize winners sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.

GENERAL

31. Nothing in these terms and conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

32. If this Competition is not capable of running as planned, or is interfered with or disrupted in any way by unforeseen circumstances outside the Promoter’s control (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, weather event, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, acting reasonably and to the extent necessary to address the unforeseen circumstances and subject to the approval of any relevant regulatory authorities, where required.

33. Subject to any rights you may have under any applicable law, the Promoter assumes no responsibility for the following, except to the extent caused or contributed to by our own negligence: (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service providers, congestion on any carrier network or otherwise; (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of the Competition; or (iv) any delay in delivery (when not directly caused by the Promoter or its supplier), or failure of safe delivery of a prize.

34. If any dispute arises between an individual and the Promoter concerning the conduct of this Competition or claiming a prize, the Promoter will, acting reasonably, consider the individual’s point of view, taking into account any facts or evidence put forward, and to respond to it fairly within a reasonable time. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

35. A winner accepts a prize at their own risk. Any tax liability arising as a result of accepting a prize is the responsibility of the winner. Independent financial advice should be sought.

36. To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant in connection with the Competition or a prize, including without limitation: (i) any indirect loss such as loss of business or other profits; and (ii) any liability for personal injury or death.  To the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the minimum allowable by law. The Promoter may request that a winner sign and returns a deed of release to this effect as a condition of a prize being awarded.  If a winner fails to sign and return such release, they may forfeit the prize.

37. If requested by the Promoter and agreed by a winner, the winner will participate in reasonable promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding winning a prize, and consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in promotional material related to the Competition in any media at any time without notification or compensation, financial or otherwise.

PRIVACY STATEMENT AND MARKETING CONSENT

38.  Personal information is collected from entrants (and/or their companion) by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable the Promoter and its agents to manage, administer and promote the Competition and, where applicable, publicise the winner. The personal information may also be provided to persons assisting the Promoter, including prize suppliers and deliverers, marketing agencies and IT providers, and to regulatory authorities, media outlets and related companies. The Promoter will disclose Eligible Entrants’ personal information and/or collect personal information about Eligible Entrants from persons overseas to engage in its business functions and activities and for the purposes detailed in this statement (for a list of countries, see the Group’s Privacy Policy https://www.suncorpgroup.com.au/about/corporate-governance/privacy-policy. By participating in the Competition (and/or accepting the prize), Eligible Entrants consent to these uses and disclosures of their personal information.

39. If an Eligible Entrant does not provide the personal information the Promoter requests, the Promoter may not be able to enter them into the Competition. All personal information is handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Statement at Privacy | Apia and the Group’s Privacy Policy. Information about how to access or correct the personal information that the Promoter holds about you, or complain, can be found in the Group’s Privacy Policy available online at https://www.suncorpgroup.com.au/about/corporate-governance/privacy-policy.

40. Entry into the Competition also entitles the Promoter and any related companies that use the Apia brand (“we”/”us”) to let the Eligible Entrant know from time to time about news, offers, products and services they might be interested in (by any medium, including telephone, email, mail, SMS or online marketing). In order to carry out direct marketing, entrants’ personal information will be collected from and disclosed to others that provide us with specialised data matching, trending or analytical services, as well as general marketing services.  We, and other people who provide us with services, may combine the personal information collected from entrants or others, with the information we, or other companies in the Suncorp Group, or our service providers already hold about entrants.  We may also use online targeted marketing, data and audience matching and market segmentation to improve advertising relevance. Each Eligible Entrant agrees that they must provide and/or maintain their consent to receive such marketing communications and not opt out of receiving such communications during the Entry Period.
