What happens if I need to reschedule my trip?
Please speak to your travel provider or agent if you need to reschedule your trip due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Some providers may even waive rescheduling or cancellation fees during this time.
If you purchased an Apia Travel Insurance policy before 31 January 2020 (6pm AEST), you may be able to claim non-refundable expenses, like flights and tours. Conditions apply, so it’s best to get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.
For policies taken out after this date, you may not be covered for COVID-19 related claims and your cover may be reduced. This is because by 31 January 2020 the World Health Organisation (WHO) had declared the COVID-19 outbreak an international public health emergency. The risks posed by the COVID-19 outbreak were not unforeseen.
We do not provide any cover for loss arising from the government prohibition on travelling.
