I've been asked to work from home for an extended period. Do I need to update my cover to include office equipment?
Apia Home & Contents Insurance can cover office items, like a monitor and desk, that are insured at your address for up to $10,000, or 25% of the contents sum insured in total. Therefore, no need to update your policy to include these items, as they’re already automatically covered.
However, this doesn’t include equipment you have taken from your workplace, like your laptop, as cover only extends to items at your insured address. For more information on what is and isn’t covered, please refer to the Product Disclosure Statement.
