ACT CTP

Covers you as the driver for your legal liability for personal injuries or death caused in a motor vehicle accident if you are the at fault driver.

Australian Capital Territory CTP Insurance

Anyone registering a motor vehicle in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) must have Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance. This is purchased when you register your car with Access Canberra. ACT motorists can choose their CTP insurer when renewing their registration.

To view the current CTP premiums in the ACT, visit the ACT Treasury webpage.

The way you’re covered by CTP Insurance in the ACT is changing from 1 February 2020. This will affect the support available to anyone injured in a motor vehicle accident. You don’t need to do anything to update your cover when the new scheme comes into effect. You can visit the Motor Accident Injuries Commission website or the MAI Insurance Reform page  for more information.

Why choose Apia CTP Insurance:

  • Apia provides Driver Cover Plus which provides cover for specific serious injury benefits for eligible drivers, for eligible policies commencing before 1 February 2020.
  • Driver Cover Plus comes at no additional cost (see the policy documents to find out more).
