CTP Green Slip Insurance provides compensation for people injured in a motor vehicle accident, however, cover for injuries to the driver who causes the accident are limited. CTP protects the owner of the vehicle, or any other person who at anytime drives the vehicle against claims for legal liability in respect of the death or injury to a person caused by the fault of the owner or driver of the vehicle. If you are found to be at fault and do not have a CTP Green Slip for your vehicle, you could be personally liable for injury compensation costing millions of dollars.

ACT CTP Insurance

Anyone registering a motor vehicle in the Australian Capital Territory must have Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTPI). CTPI is purchased at the same time as, and together with, your registration.

CTPI covers you for your legal liability for personal injuries you cause to another person if you're the at-fault driver in an accident. This means that CTP insurance provides compensation to people injured or killed in a motor vehicle accident, except the at-fault driver. CTP does not cover damage to your car or damage to someone elses car or property.
