Apia’s Cyclone Larry relief effort – 3rd April
Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency’s (Apia) Cyclone Larry relief effort is well underway in North Queensland.
Apia is currently managing over 2,250 claims for damage to homes, caravans and cars.
It has already paid out over $400,000 to assist customers with immediate cash needs.
Apia has a team of assessors in the area working on 1,500 site inspections.
The aim is to manage claims as quickly as possible.
Apia has offices in Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton. These are supporting the relief effort.
It has also established a temporary office in Innisfail.
Apia has a unique national network of specially trained customer advisers who can be contacted to discuss claims and other insurance matters. These are being used to assist the overall relief effort in North Queensland.
