From Saturday 14 March, our Yeppoon Customer Response Team will be relocating from the Yeppoon Town Hall to the ‘old’ Betta Electrical store located across the street from the existing site at 12 James Street, Yeppoon.

The Customer Response Team is a fully self-sufficient mobile office which will continue to provide support, claims assistance and emergency funds to Suncorp Insurance customers who have been affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Marcia to help them start rebuilding their lives.

Insurer’s mobile claims team on the ground providing emergency funds to customers

Apia’s cyclone recovery efforts are in full swing with its team of assessors and claims staff on the ground in Rockhampton and Yeppoon helping affected customers get back on their feet.

Apia spokeswoman, Angela Wilkinson, said: “Apia assessors have begun assessing damaged homes – a crucial step in the recovery process.”

Apia today announced it was ready to deploy its team of insurance assessors across central and south east Queensland as recovery efforts began following Tropical Cyclone Marcia.

Apia spokeswoman, Angela Wilkinson, said: “Our initial assessment is a combination of destructive winds, fallen trees, flying debris and flooding have caused the majority of damage to homes and motor vehicles in impacted areas.

Apia is encouraging any customers who are yet to lodge a claim following last week’s destructive storm to do so today with further storms forecast from Friday.

Apia spokesperson, Angela Wilkinson, said the company had received more than 7000 home claims to date but was encouraging other affected customers who have put off lodging a claim to report any damage as soon as possible.

A Mass Assessment Centre will open in Fairfield today ready to assist Apia customers with vehicles damaged by last Thursday’s Brisbane hailstorm. 

The centre, located at 13 Cornwall Street, Fairfield, is expecting more than 600 cars to pass through each day and established to deal with the aftermath of the destructive storm.
