Central Coast Hail Mass Assessment Centre open tomorrow for Apia customers

Central Coast residents whose cars were damaged from the ANZAC Day hail storm will be able to have their vehicles assessed onsite at a Mass Assessment Centre on Saturday.

The Centre will be available to Apia customers in response to the hail storm that whipped the Central Coast and Sydney.

Located at the West Gosford Repairlink, the Centre will have motor assessors and repair specialists onsite using industry-leading technologies, such as Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) - a technique to remove dents quickly without using paint – to ensure the fastest possible vehicle repair path.

Apia spokesperson, Angela Wilkinson, said: "Customers who have booked a time prior to Saturday will be able to present their car for immediate assessment of the damage. You must pre-book before coming to the centre as we will not be able to accommodate drive-ins."

"If you are yet to lodge a claim, please call us and we can book you in. If you have already lodged a claim, please call us back and we can reschedule your assessment for this Saturday," Ms Wilkinson said.

"Based on the level of damage, it will be determined whether a car requires minor repairs through PDR or more significant works through conventional repairs. Repairers will be onsite to review and quote on the damage and discuss the next steps for scheduling the repairs.

"If the damage is too severe, the car will be deemed a write-off and settlement arranged by the onsite team. Customers will need to leave their car and transport home will be arranged. If the policy benefits allow, a hire car booking will be organised," she said.

"We recommend customers remove all personal belongings from the car before they attend the Mass Assessment Centre in case they are required to leave it if it is not driveable or is a write off. It's also useful to bring along your bank details to expedite the settlement process post assessment," Ms Wilkinson advised.
