Apia Takes Out Exceptional Service Award for Fourth Year Running

Apia has taken out the 2009 Australian Financial Review’s (AFR) Smart Investor SMILES Award for the best General Insurance company.  The SMILES (Smart Investor League of Exceptional Service) survey is conducted each year by AFR Smart Investor magazine and asks readers to reward or punish their providers based on how they’ve been treated over the year.

The survey asked readers to identify which general insurance company gave them the best value for money, quality of customer service and the best features and benefits – all areas that Apia strives to deliver.
Apia has now established a great track record with the AFR’s Smart Investor awards by winning its category each year since inception. The award validates the high level of attention Apia places on selecting the right products for its customers and the ongoing investment Apia has made in training its people to deliver the highest standards of customer service.

This is the fourth year that Smart Investor has run their SMILES survey and is testament to Apia’s ongoing commitment to deliver quality products tailored to the needs of Australians over 50.
This award comes on the heels of Apia’s world class result in this year’s 2009 Net Promoters Score. Net Promoters is an internationally recognised customer loyalty measure that asks people how likely it is that they would recommend certain companies to other people. Scoring a +69 result in this survey put Apia well ahead of its competitors where the average score for the category was +2.
