Leading national insurer Apia is urging its affected policyholders to lodge claims arising from the recent heavy rain in Northern NSW as soon as possible.
Apia is operating its 24 hour telephone line, 13 50 50, on which customers can lodge claims directly over the phone with no paperwork to complete.
“The sooner customers call Apia to lodge their claims, the sooner we can assess the damage and arrange repairs."
“We understand the impact the Northern NSW floods have had on local people. Our focus is on getting lives back to normal as quickly as possible,” said Troy Waite, Regional Manager, NSW.
The region around Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca has been inundated with heavy rain and flooding since Tuesday afternoon. Apia has already received a number of claims for home and motor vehicle damage from across the Coffs Harbour region.
For those Apia policyholders who have been affected by the Northern NSW flooding, please call Apia on the 24 hour telephone number, 13 50 50, for immediate claims service.
“Currently Apia assessing staff are on ground assessing damage to our customer’s cars and homes."
“Due to the widespread flood damage and the number of calls for assistance being received by Apia, we ask that customers please be patient. It is also peak holiday season in Coffs Harbour with Easter and school holidays approaching so there might be delays with temporary accommodation."
“But please be rest assured that every customer is important to us and it is our absolute priority to provide support and understanding to each and every one,” said Mr Waite.
For those customers affected by the floods, Apia offers the following advice:
Apia is a specialist insurer for people over 50 who are not working full time. It provides a full range of home and contents, car, caravan, motorhome and boat insurance and has a network of 34 branches across Australia, serving almost 700,000 customers.
