Apia Accommodates Bushfire Victims

Leading national insurer Apia has been working around the clock to ensure customers severely affected by Victoria’s bushfires have access to temporary accommodation.

All Apia customers severely affected by the bushfires have been offered accommodation support and are being met face to face by a team of Apia mobile representatives to discuss their accommodation needs.

“We are hoping that the offer of accommodation support will help greatly with our customers’ recovery both emotionally and physically as we try to take the hassle out of organising accommodation. A process that can be tiring and lengthy when real estate visits and property viewings are involved,” said Apia Executive Manager Geoff Keogh.

The Apia teams’ face-to-face contact with customers ensures that Apia can spend whatever time each individual customer requires ensuring we understand and then meet their personal needs.

“While we’re working with our customers on their longer term requirements, we also understand the importance of assisting customers in the short term so that they can regain some order in their lives,” continued Mr Keogh.

“Meeting them personally ensures we understand our customers’ individual circumstances and needs – including making sure our customers have a comfortable environment in which they can start to get back on their feet,” said Mr Keogh.

Mr Keogh emphasised that customers did not have to present proof of insurance to be eligible for assistance, saying Apia had thorough records of customers in affected areas.

Customers are encouraged to contact Apia anytime on 13 50 50.
